Does the original film format of a photograph affect the quality of the digitized image?

Answer

Yes, it does.

The original film format of a photograph is often defined by its size. A larger film size will yield a more detailed digitized image simply because there is more detail in the original film.

A smaller film format means there is less detail available to be captured digitally.
