Why do you sell TIFFs instead of JPEGs?

Answer

When you purchase an image from The Revs Digital Library you will receive a TIFF image rather than a JPEG. The reason for this is that JPEGs are a compressed file type that lose a small amount of data every time they are opened and re-saved, resulting in a deteriorated image over time. TIFF files are one of the highest quality file formats because they are uncompressed and do not lose any data when they are opened and re-saved. Although they have a much larger file size, they are much higher quality.
